What’s Beyond?

In our aim of practice, we need an orientation beyond our self-centered ideals, wants and “I don’t wants”. More secure than where an emotion will lead you, and certainly more clear than where a thought will leave you. It takes courage. Great courage.

In losing the drama of our emotional world or the control of our judgmental distance, we are vulnerable. We dare to enter new territory where constructing our experience around something separate just simply stops working. We’re not given instructions on what or how to be ourselves as we are in each of our expressions. No one can tell us what it means to be human.

This is our experience. This is what we have, whether we know or not that this is what we have chosen. It is so precious. How could this life be anything but something precious?

So, what are we devoted to?
